We've prepared this short guide on setting up your camera, lighting, computers and ideas for locations.

Mobile Streaming

We do have a guide on setting up mobile streaming and it's the simplest way to broadcast with Cherry.tv, although you can't set up private shows on mobiles.

Mobile broadcasts offer the flexibility to broadcast from almost anywhere. Provided it is safe, secure and does not allow unregistered individuals to appear on-screen, this is acceptable.

You can broadcast from your home, empty streets, the beach, parks, hotel rooms and even your own office, provided that you are the only person there.

There is considerable scope for identifying additional locations for use, with each broadcast potentially involving a different set of locations.

Stream from a Computer

Given the prevalence of high-quality webcams on laptops, it is relatively straightforward to set up a fixed location for this purpose, such as a secure room in your house or a studio.

If you do not have a fixed camera in place, you can add a webcam, such as the one you may also use with a PC.

You may wish to consider upgrading to a higher grade camera for improved image quality and to stream from that through your computer.

It is also possible to use the laptop's built-in microphones, but it may be advisable to consider upgrading to higher-quality microphones for blogging or small video productions at a later stage.

Lighting

There are numerous straightforward and readily available lighting systems, including ring lights and compact spotlights. Further information on the configuration of the lighting system you have purchased can be found in the accompanying documentation. Alternatively, you can access a wealth of information and advice on professional lighting setups online.

Room Decorations

This is your own decision and the content you wish to display to your viewers.

This could include colored lighting, garlands, ornaments, adult toys, pictures and similar items.

It is important to ensure that the room is kept tidy and free from obstructions. Any wires from your broadcasting system should be concealed, and any unnecessary items should be removed. It is also essential to ensure that the door can be closed securely, preventing access to the room by other people and pets.

It is also advisable to ensure that you have a suitable chair, bed or both to perform on, which should be comfortable and clean, free from clutter, with attractive covers and pillows.

Technical Requirements

Ensure that you have a reliable and stable internet connection. Please also ensure that any additional software on your phone or computer is closed down, as this will allow you to utilise all available resources for your broadcast.

It is important to ensure that computers are up to date with sufficient memory and a fast CPU. For further information, please visit our website or contact your local computer store. The same applies to your smartphone if you are broadcasting with that device.

If you are considering purchasing high-quality cameras or microphones, it is advisable to conduct online research to gain an understanding of the market. It is therefore advisable to conduct thorough research to ensure that you make an informed decision.

You can always ask for advice from any models you may already know, your studio, if you are with one, or contact our customer support team for advice.
